Quickly developing hotel brand Oyo Homes and Hotels has 100 hotels working under its flag only 10 months in the after propelling in the UK.

The Indian hotel group, which franchises, ‘manchises’ (an establishment and the board model) and rents properties and is the world’s third-biggest hotel network by room tally (behind Marriott and Hilton), presently works in over 25 UK cities and towns.

Since propelling in the UK in October 2018 with a pledge to put £40m in the region, Oyo now has a team of more than 275 across jobs including business improvement, operations, change and showcasing, with seven workplaces in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Portsmouth.

Jeremy Sanders, head of OYO UK, stated: “Our rapid growth shows there’s a real appetite from hotel owners and customers alike for good quality, affordable hotels with a local touch – and we look forward to adding value to more independent hotel owners as we continue to invest and expand into new areas of the UK.”

Independent hotels pay an administration expense to join the Oyo brand, while Oyo puts investments into the branding and upgrades to the property and assumes control over the income and revenue management at the hotel.

Since being established in India six years ago by businessman Ritesh Agarwal, Oyo Hotels and Homes has extended its essence to almost 23,000 Oyo-marked hotels representing in excess of 850,000 rooms crosswise over 800 cities. The UK was Oyo’s first extension outside of Asia.

The organisation is upheld by investors including AirBnB, SoftBank Vision Fund, Greenoak Capital, Sequoia India, Lightspeed India, Hero Enterprise and China Lodging Group.
