AIDA Cruises have welcomed AIDAmira to their ever growing, reputable fleet.

Model Franziska Knuppe, with Captain Manuel Pannzek alongside, revealed the ship on November 30th at 11pm. An eye-catching fireworks display above the Majorcan port contributed to the great reveal. In attendance was guest Johannes Oerding who entertained the 1,000 guests with his music.

Also featuring was the charity event for AIDA Cruise and Help which was hosted by Mary Amiri. During this, a charity auction was ran including exclusive experiences with special guests, the highest quality champagne and an original Rizzi.

The President of AIDA, Felix Eichhorn, was delighted to hand over a check for 78,500 euros to the foundation, FLY & HELP. He said:

“I would like to thank all our guests and partners who helped us with our project that we take closely to heart, the construction of schools in developing and emerging countries.”

Proceeds from the money raised will help build a school in Namibia. Remarkably, this will be the seventh school project AIDA have helped with.

The ship is currently in its debut voyage as it heads through the Mediterranean.

Throughout its premiere season, the wonderful vessel will be heading for southern Africa. Furthermore, it will stop in London, Durban, Luderitz before ending where it began, in Cape Town.

From May to September next year, AIDAmira will sail from Corfu on cruises in the East Mediterranean. Moreover, it comes as a 14 day cruise and gives guests the chance to visit Athens, Santorini, Crete and Brindisi. In addition, the other option will take guests to see Malta, Sicily, Crotone, Olympia and Cephalonia. The two routes can actually be combined.
